Beyond the Anthropocene

In the face of ever-changing economic, social, political, and environmental landscapes, it may seem impossible to look beyond the crises- whether they are current or arising. One of, if not the most concerning crisis of the 21st century is the unfolding climate crisis, and although we can already see the disastrous aftermaths, the forecast for the future is much gloomier. Despite that, it is crucial to persevere in the struggle against the climate crisis, even if the efforts come as a presentation. Beyond the Anthropocene (A Neo-Tengrist Approach) aims to spotlight the current environmental crises that Kazakhstan is facing, imagining and proposing an alternate attitude to nature inspired by the historical indigenous religion and lifestyle of steppe nomads- Tengrism. This project has been developed throughout the Re-Engage with Nature program provided by the Tselinny Center of Contemporary Culture and reflects a lot of shared material. It was a pleasure to have been a part of this program. Thank you, Tselinny.
